An intermediate 2 part arrangement that introduces students to aleatoric singing, unmetered moments, soloist with chant-like notation, and part independence. The high part range is from a C4-D5, with the lower part being an F3-D4. Perfect for ensembles with changing adolescent voices.

I went through a poetry phase when I was younger and then later set a few of the texts to music. This one is supposed to capture the freeing feeling of what it would be like to be a bird soaring across the sky.

This started as an assignment to write a piece for spoken voice and instrument. I wanted to capture the idea of slowly drifting to sleep as well as push myself and write the text in a way that mimicked natural speech with rhythm and pitch shape.
