~Tuba/Euphonium
~Harp (Lever and Pedal)
~Music Theory
~Aural Skills/Sight-Singing
~Composition
Below is some basic information and lesson rates. If you are interested in lessons or have questions, please email me at [email protected], or use the Contact Form at the top!
TUITION RATES
30 minute lessons $80/month
60 minute lessons $160/month
The monthly rate is the same for each month regardless of whether there are 4 or 5 weeks. I have found this monthly even-billing makes it easier for you (and me) to budget each month instead of tuition changing based on the number of weeks. I prefer the consistency of weekly lessons and have found it better suited to ensuring students are growing and learning, but if you do not wish to meet every week, individual lessons are $25/$50 for half hour and hour times respectively.
CANCELLATION & MAKE-UP POLICY
The time scheduled for each student’s lesson is reserved for their exclusive use. Please note that this time is not to be considered available time for scheduling other appointments or activities. If you must miss your scheduled time, I must be notified at least 24-hours in advance. Rescheduling and make-ups will be done at my discretion and availability.
PRACTICING & PREPARATION
Students are expected to be prepared each week with all lesson materials at hand (music, theory books binder, and notebook) and to practice outside of the weekly lessons. I do not require a set amount of time to for practicing, I do require that students practice productively. Most importantly, the student should practice when they are excited about it. It does no good to spend an hour practicing if you are wishing you were doing something else. On the flip side, if the student is not making progress between each lesson, I will ask them to log daily practice times. I do not wish practice to be a chore, but sometimes it must be done to become a better musician.
RECOMMENDED MATERIALS
~Standard Notation Sheet Music Notebook
~Method Books (Piano only)
~Metronome/Tuner
~A 1½ inch binder with pockets*
~Clear plastic sleeves for copied music*
*Electronic Tablets/iPads can be used as well
PERFORMANCES
At its very core, music is a performing art and should be shared! There are many opportunities for performances, and I encourage all students to play for friends, family, at school, at church, for strangers(?!), and for each other! I can also help students schedule and prepare for individual or shared recitals. I currently do not require a studio recital, but that may change if there is interest in the future. I also understand that performing in front of others can be scary, and that's okay! Playing for yourself and your own enjoyment is also wonderful and helps foster a deeper love of music.
I look forward to working with you!
